Why come to Rome?
Rome is a world in itself: The foundation of Rome dates back to ancient times. At the time of her greatest glory, under the Roman Empire, the city had about one million inhabitants. Within its walls is the smallest state in the world: Vatican City, residence of the Pope.
Built on seven hills, Rome is crossed by the winding Tiber River, with its banks linked by numerous bridges. Most of the city is built on the left bank, while the Vatican City and the famous Trastevere quarter rise on the right bank. Most important of the seven hills is undoubtedly the Capitoline, formerly the citadel and the centre of the city. The other six hills are Palatine, Quirinale, Viminal, Caelian, Aventine, Esquiline. The entire area of Rome was walled-in by the Emperor Aurelius in the 3rd century, as the threat of barbarian invasions increased. Substantial portions of his great wall still remain to this day.
Rome today suits everyone from the love of history and art galleries, regional restaurants, sidewalk cafes, shops on Via Condotti, music in the streets, friendly Latin people and a comfortable subtropical Mediterranean climate with its sun and warmth and swaying palms. A city to thrill and enchant you. Just think of what Rome has seen and survived……the Eternal City!
Due to popular demand we will be making this a 3, 4 or 5 day break.
See you in Rome Spread the word, invite your friends, and see you in Rome this Summer.
Note. This is not a church run activity, convention or conference. This is an event organised to bring single LDS people together, to enjoy the beautiful city that is Rome and enjoy some fun in the sun.
Note. This event is non-refundable, due to hotel room bookings and dinner reservations.
